STAFF ACCOUNTANT

Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP is a leading regional public accounting firm, located in the heart of downtown Buffalo, NY. Our firm is known for providing exceptional service to our clientele who are diverse in both industry and complexity. The ongoing success of the firm is dependent on the quality of the employees that represent the firm. Driven by the growth of the firm’s client base, we are continuously looking for quality candidates and are currently looking to hire Staff Accountants to join our team!

Summary:

Staff accountants are an integral part of our service team and are exposes to all areas of client service including assisting in the audit, tax and consulting departments of the firm.  We take the training and development of our staff very seriously and are committed to providing exciting and rewarding career paths for advancement for all employees.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a Master’s degree in accounting, business administration or economics or have met the minimum education requirements to obtain a New York State CPA license.
  • Must be committed to obtaining CPA license within 24 months of being hired.
  • Must be self-motivated and hard working.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have experience with basic information technology software including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and basic tax preparation software.
  • Must be detail oriented and open to following direction from supervisors.

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Driven by the growth of the firm’s client base, we are continuously looking for quality candidates and are currently looking to hire Senior Accountants to join our team!

Summary:

We are currently looking for Senior Accountants for both our Tax & Assurance departments. We encourage applicants to consider either department based on their experience and/or preference.

As a Senior Accountant for our firm, you will have the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of a client’s business, thus allowing you and your team members to deliver timely, high-quality service to the client that meets or exceeds their expectations. In addition, Senior Accountants are encouraged and rewarded for recognizing opportunities to increase the level and type of services our clients would find beneficial.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in accounting, business administration or economics or a have met the minimum education requirements to obtain a New York State CPA license.
  • CPA certification or demonstrated progress toward obtaining CPA certification
  • Minimum 3 years of public accounting experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains exceptional customer service skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance services.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to recognize opportunities to provide new and innovative service to clients
  • Self-starter with the ability to handle and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Additional professional designations, such as CFE, CVA, etc. are a plus

Audit Specific

  • Minimum 3 years of external audit experience
  • Specific knowledge of FASB regulations and GAAP
  • Strong financial statement and audit background
  • Experience with ProSystems Engagement software is a plus

Tax Specific

  • Minimum 3 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience
  • Ability to prepare and/or review complex business and individual tax returns.
  • Ability to identify and research tax issues, develop resolutions, and prepare written conclusions.
  • Experience with developing, training and mentoring of staff and interns.
  • Experience with tax research software
  • Experience with UltraTax CS is a plus

INTERNSHIPS

Dansa D’Arata Soucia LLP is proud of its exceptional internship program, which is one of the best among local accounting firms. We work with all local universities and colleges to attract talented self-motivated students and recent graduates for participation in our paid internship program. Our internship program allows students to obtain real work experience with the potential for permanent employment.

We are currently looking to provide a part time internship opportunity to 4th or 5th year accounting students, enrolled in an accredited accounting program, who are interested in a career in public accounting. This position will be available from January – April 2019.

As part of the internship experience with Dansa D’Arata Soucia each intern is provided:

  • Special training designed specifically for the internship program
  • An assigned mentor who is typically a permanent employee of the firm who recently went through our internship program
  • A flexible work schedule (minimum of 20 hours per week is required)
  • Scheduled formal feedback on a weekly basis
  • Real work experience in the area or tax return preparation
